My wall plug is not working?

The outlet had a surge protector plugged into it and in the protector we had a microwave, coffee pot, and a light. The only thing on at the time was the light and the breaker trip and we rest the breaker and still have nothing. We also tried to hit the reset button in the middle of the outlet and nothing. We also tried just plugging the stuff right into the plug and still nothing. What should I try next?
