Car jerks when in park?

I have a 2000 dodge neon. A couple of days ago when u started it, it would idle really high for a min and then when it would idle down it would like go blug blug (surge) and do that til put in drive once in drive and sitting still it would be ok but once u got going down the road it would start to jerk the whole car. We tried a tps (throttle posistioning switch) and that didnt help! We r trying a spark plug and wire change next. Please Help!
