Why do they dog a 17-year old girl who isn't running but ignore Obama's drug addiction?

The difference is that Obama is not saying t hat people who smoked weed should be locked up. Palin is railing against premarital sex and insisting that the government control what is "decent", all while her daughter and husband are doing the opposite.
