Computer damage after power surge!!! Help?

disconnect and reconnect video and power cables to monitor. Reset the monitor settings to default on the monitor itself. Notice if the video problems only occur in windows, if they do, then the monitor or the has been damaged. Try your monitor with a friend's computer to make sure it is not the gpu. Replace monitor if damaged and consider investing in an UPS battery backup that exceeds your PC watt rating.
